Volvo has officially confirmed the launch of the brand new XC60 on the 12th of December, 2017 in the Indian market. The XC60 will come with a feature packed Inscription trim and there will be several features on offer for buyers. The SUV will get all-wheel drive as standard along with a 2.0 litre diesel D5 235 hp engine and this will be shared with the XC90 SUV. This engine will be paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission unit.
The powerful engine will be Volvo’s major USP in this market segment with regard to overall power. It will be competing with the 190 hp xDrive 20d version of the BMW X3 since the more powerful 245 hp xDrive 30d version will not be available anymore. This will be the only engine option for the new XC60 and it may get a T6 petrol 320 hp option in the future. Volvo may also introduce the T8 Twin-Engine 407 hp petrol-hybrid version of the XC60 in the near future.

The XC60 Inscription model comes with features like Bowers & Wilkins audio system, air suspension, heads-up display unit, premium Nappa leather upholstery and large sized 19-inch alloy wheels. There will be several radar-based safety features, which makes the XC60 the second model to get these after the XC90 Excellence.
The Volvo XC60 will be assembled at the company’s plant in Bangalore. The car is expected to be priced around Rs. 55 lakhs (ex-showroom) as per estimates. The XC60 will be competing with rivals like the Mercedes-Benz GLC and Land Rover Discovery Sport along with the BMW X3 and Audi Q5.
