This classy machine is based on the SPA platform and is powered by a 2.0L 1969cc 4 cylinder turbocharged diesel engine which produces 190BHP and a peak torque of 400Nm. This engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. The model on sale is the D4 variant, and soon there might be a D5 trim which will be introduced and that will also be the same 2.0L diesel engine producing a power of 235BHP and a torque of 480Nm. Unfortunately for petrol fanatics, the automaker has no plans on the anvil to introduce a petrol variant any time soon!

The main rivals of this car are Mercedes Benz E class, BMW 5 Series, Audi A6 and the new Jaguar XF. Although, Volvo costs more than few of its competitors, this is because it comes to India the CBU way.
