The upcoming Los Angeles Auto Show is expected to witness the official unveiling of the eagerly awaited and brand-new Volvo XC40 model. The new XC40 has already been displayed in Milan this year by the Swedish carmaker and will be launching in the Indian market as well. The global debut of the new XC40 will take place at this month’s Los Angeles Auto Show. The car is slated to launch next year in India. The XC40 shares its underpinnings with the XC90 and XC60 and makes use of the CMA (Compact Modular Architecture) platform.
The new XC40 will also be the first model to underpin all upcoming cars in this 40 Series, which covers fully electrified vehicles as well. European markets will get the car early next year. The XC40 is the first entry from the company in the compact SUV segment according to the President & CEO at Volvo Auto, Hakan Samuelsson and should move the brand in an entirely new direction. The XC40 gets the distinctive Thor’s hammer daytime running lights in front along with the signature grille.
