There is widespread speculation about Volkswagen bringing the newly showcased 2018 Virtus to the Indian market. This car may well be a replacement for the Vento sedan which is rapidly ageing. What makes matters interesting is that the 2018 Virtus is based on the new 2018 Polo hatchback and will also be a replacement for the Polo sedan (or Vento) as it is known in global markets. The cars even use the same MQB A0 platform with several interior components and design elements being similar as well.
Volkswagen India has not revealed any official launch dates or plans for the 2018 Virtus in the Indian market. However, reports state that this could very well be on the cards. The Virtus is wider and longer than the earlier Vento model. The wheelbase is longer at 2650 mm and the front fascia resembles the new Polo. There is a sloping roofline at the rear with LED tail lights. There are LED headlamps in front along with a new touch screen infotainment setup inside. There is a new dashboard for the car along with stylish air conditioning controls and leather upholstery for the seats. The instrument cluster also gets a digital display unit.
