The 3 door and 5 door models from Mini have been officially launched in the Indian market along with the 2018 Convertible. The new cars have upgraded transmission units and new features including signature circular adaptive LED headlights with Matrix high beam functionality. There is a special Union Jack design for the LED lights at the rear. The new Mini logo has been used for the tailgate, steering wheel, remote control, bonnet and central instrument cluster.

There is the new Leather Chester Malt upholstery for the interiors which is paired with a Malt Brown color line. There is also the Piano Black Surface Area for the doors and central console. There is a backlit interior surface option for the fascia passenger side called MINI Yours Interior Style Piano Black Illuminated and this gets the Union Jack backlit courtesy the Excitement Pack ambient lighting feature. This has 12 color options and there are puddle lamps along with new Mini logo projection.
There is a standard 6.5 inch central circular display unit along with a touch screen 65 inch infotainment unit that is optional. The Mini Wired Package comes with the touch screen 8.8 inch infotainment unit with Touchpad controller. There is Navigation System Professional along with the 20 GB internal HDD and Mini Find Mate feature. There is also a second USB interface, MINI Connected XL, wireless charging with telephony and optional Apple CarPlay support.
The three door Cooper S and Convertible Cooper S come with a four cylinder petrol turbocharged 2.0 litre mill that dishes out 192 PS and 280 Nm. The engine is paired to a Steptronic 7-speed automatic dual-clutch transmission system. There is a characteristic gear lever and gearshift paddles which are optional. The three and five door Cooper D models come with a three cylinder 1.5 litre diesel mill that dishes out 114 PS and 270 Nm of peak torque. This engine is mated to a 6-speed automatic Steptronic transmission system. The three and five door models and Convertible version are expected to be available at MINI dealerships from June 2018.
