Hyundai has closed their order books in Norway for their new electric vehicle Kona Electric, for this year. The decision was taken by the company in sight of an overwhelming response by Norwegians. Ever since the company announced the launch of this car along with the prices for various models, they have touched a booking number of 20,000. An extremely happy Christian Stenbo, Managing Director, Hyundai Motors, Norway, shared that the lucrative price point of the cars, along with the advanced technology is the reason why so many customers have shown interest.
Norway will see the best version of Hyundai Kona Electric loaded with top notch specifications. It will have an onboard charger of 7.2 kW along with a fast charging capability of 100 kW CCS Combo DC. The car will have a long range battery of 64 kWh which will give it a whooping single charge driving range of 470 km. It will also have an electric motor that is comparatively larger at 150 kW which will give a 150 bhp, and develop to 395 Nm. This Kona Electric will reach a top speed of 167 km, and shall be able to take a quick speed hike from 0 to 100 kmph in just 7.6 seconds. Optional package of Kona Electric in Norway will have, full leather interior, sunroof, android auto, 8 inch infotainment, Apple Car Play, Head-up display, multimedia and navigation information, cruise control, rear parking sensors, automatic LED headlamps and a lot more.
Pricing is the biggest plus point of this Electric SUV. The base model is priced at NOK 325,900. And the hi-end model is priced at NOK 345,900. The car was first showcased in Geneva, before the huge number of interested customers started booking. Deliveries will start from July 2018.
