BMW India is now aiming to drive higher sales figures for the Mini premium hatchback brand according to the company Managing Director at BMW India, Vikram Pawah. Pawah also added that the BMW Group is focusing on expanding the distribution network for the Mini brand along with working on increasing the product lineup.
There will be two brand new showrooms for the Mini brand this year according to Pawah. Mini tours will also cover emerging towns and cities in India for taking the brand closer to prospective buyers and showcasing its lineup of products. 421 units from the Mini brand were sold last year by BMW India and this represented 17% of overall growth.
In the first quarter of this year, BMW India garnered sales figures of 136 units for the brand. Erstwhile rivals like the Fiat 500 and Volkswagen Beetle are now struggling to garner decent sales volumes while Mini has a strong product range of 5 car models which are priced anywhere between Rs. 26-39 lakhs.
