Ola’s eco-conservative expansion
As many as 10,000 electric cars would be added to the huge fleet Ola manages over the next year. These cars would be electric three-wheelers and they would be deployed in the urban locations throughout the country. The news is no surprise as Ola has already been trying to expand its fleet. It has also been experimenting with the electric cars and three-wheelers in Nagpur and checking out for applicable results. It is true that the electric Ola taxi project has seen glitches with most of the drivers not happy about the charge times as well as the limited range of these cars, the expansion can be seen to be supporting of Ola's commitment to owning more than 10 lakh automobiles in the country by 2021.

Ola’s go-green initiative
As of today, electric vehicles do hardly have any popularity in the country. It is true that preserving the atmosphere is of utmost importance but when it comes to livelihood, people do not have the means to opt for something that would be difficult to maintain and buy in the long run. Electric vehicles sold in the country account for about only 0.1 percent of the total 30 lakh vehicles that are approximately sold in the country. With the strong push that the government is giving towards electric vehicles like introducing the new green number plates, the sale of electric vehicles in the country is bound to increase over the years. Also, the overnment is planning to allow teenagers of the age 16 to 18 to freely ride electric scooters. The decision taken by Ola does not seem mistimed if these things are taken into consideration.
