Luxury car brand Maserati will go through a complete revamp with an assortment of new models and launches. Their entire range of existing products will see changes along with new products being brought into the market. This decision has been taken to keep up with other luxury car brands aka competitors.
Maserati is a sub brand of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. Recently in Italy, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles or FCA announced their next five year plan. The plan included all their popular brands like Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Ram Trucks, Jeep and Maserati. FCA has specifically mentioned that they will put in a lot of investment in Maserati.
The more elaborate plan for this luxury car brand includes 8 Plug-in Hybrid vehicles that will fall under its Electric Vehicle format, 4 full Electric models, and a gradual phase out of the diesel powertrain. All this is planned to be executed by 2022.
To refresh their product range, Maserati has announced that they will launch a new SUV, along with a new sportscar which was conceptualised back in 2014, and 4 new Hybrid plug-in vehicles.
For the existing range, Quattroporte sedans, Ghibli and other models of this luxury car brand will get fresh and all new versions, before they start getting built on new platforms. The cars are scheduled to be built on new platforms by 2022. With the new platforms in place, the popular Quattroporte, Ghibli and Levante will have the option of electric powertrain as well. In the meanwhile Levante SUV will also get a revamp along with a smaller SUV that has been planned to be launched before 2022.
With such big plans for all their popular brands, FCA is looking to create quite a buzz in the car manufacturing field. Especially Maserati looks ready to bring some serious competition in the luxury car market.
