With a token deposit of Rs. 10,000 you will find the pre-booking of Datsun redi GO AMT available at your disposal. Datsun Redi-GO 1.0 AMT will be launching in India in early 2018 but the pre-bookings are already open. Automatic transmissions were usually considered a luxury when speaking of automobiles. Affordability and automatic transmission never went hand in hand. Maruti Suzuki however, realizing the prospect of introducing automated transmission to entry-level cars, found a way to blend cost-efficiency and automatic transmission with the AMT option in the Celerio model.
AMT does not completely make the transmission automatic but instead provides a gear function that is clutch-less, a transmission more commonly known as the paddle-shift gearbox. This facilitates a semi-automatic gear shifting whilst keeping the production costing lesser to that of completely automatic transmissions. The ex-showroom price of Datsun Redi-GO AMT on India will most likely be around 4 lakh. The vehicle will be facing competition from the likes of Maruti Suzuki Alto K10, Renault Kwid AMT, Tata GenX and Nano AMT.
Under the skin of Nissan owned Datsun Redi-GO AMT is a lot similar in making to Renault Kwid AMT ( both using CMF-A platform), with similar engine and transmission. However, this should not lead the buyers to think, that both the cars are basically same but under different packaging. In spite of having a similar engine and a transmission, the Japanese company promises to make the driving experience much different to that of Renault Kwid. Bear in mind what you see, is not what always is. Although both the vehicles are fitted with a 5-speed AMT unit, the gear shift interface in Kwid AMT is a rotary control, whereas Redi-Go AMT gets a traditional lever interface. Additionally, the "creep" function found in Redi-GO AMT will prove to be a huge advantage during the heavy rush hour traffic, with it you will cruise at a low speed of even 5-6 kmph without depressing the accelerator. Further, the vehicle will allow you to put the transmission to completely manual mode if you so desire. The instrument cluster will additionally assist you at manual gear shifting; when on wrong gear you will be warned with a beeping indication.

Datsun Redi-GO AMT will be powered by a 999cc 1.0 -litre three-cylinder engine ( like the Renault Kwid, of course) infused with Datsun's Intelligent Spark Automated Technology. The engine will punch a 67 bhp and 91Nm of peak torque. From January 23rd, 2018 the model will start receiving the hatchback inclusion option as well.
In design terms, the Redi-GO AMT will be much similar to its manual version, and so will be the equipment. Chrome surrounded hexagonal grille, pulled back headlamps with turn indicators, daytime LED running light on bumpers, and wheel covers, door handles and bumpers integrated with the rest of the body. With a length of 3429 mm, the width of 1560 mm, the height of 1541 mm and a ground clearance of 185 mm, even the dimensions remain unchanged.
On the eve of product launch, Jerome Saigot, Managing Director, Nissan Motor India Pvt. Ltd, commented, “We keep customers at the heart of everything we do.
