tThe 2018 Hyundai Creta is due to be launched soon in the Indian market. Dealerships are already accepting bookings for an initial payment of Rs. 30, 000. The 2018 Creta will be taking on rivals such as the facelifted Mahindra XUV500, Renault Captur and Jeep Compass in the country. The 2018 Creta will have E, S, E+, SX, SX (O) and SX dual tone variants and there will be new Marina Blue and Passion Orange color options. The latter will be available in a dual-tone shade complete with a black roof. The current Polar White and Phantom Black combo will continue along with all existing color options.
The same 1.4 litre and 1.6 litre diesel engines will be used and these make 89 BHP and 126 BHP respectively. There will be the 1.6 litre petrol engine that makes 123 BHP. The 1.4 litre diesel engine will only have a 5-speed manual transmission option. Both the 1.6 litre petrol and diesel engines will have 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission choices.
The facelifted Hyundai Creta will also get a new signature cascading grille and revamped projector headlights along with LED position lights. There will be a brand new bumper and bigger airdam in addition to new fog lamps. There will also be new LED daytime running lights. The top-end Creta will get bigger 17-inch diamond cut alloy wheels while mid-variants will come with 16-inch alloy wheels. The lower trims of the SUV will have 16-inch steel wheels and wheel caps. The 2018 Creta will also get a touch screen 7-inch unit complete with navigation and audio abilities. There will be MirrorLink, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. There will also be an electric sunroof, push-button start, digital clock, automatic climate control and a leather wrapped gearbox lever and steering wheel.
There will be 6 airbags on offer in addition to ABS with EBD, hill assist, electronic stability control, static bending lights, rear parking sensors and camera and ISOFIX child seat mounts among other features. The 2018 Creta is expected to be priced between Rs. 9.5-13.5 lakhs (ex-showroom) for the petrol version while the diesel version could be priced between INR 10.3-14.75 lakhs (ex-showroom) as per estimates.
