The Indian automobile market is gearing up for the launch of the AMG S63 Coupe on June 18. The fourth AMG offering to the launched in India this year, it will flaunt a revamped front façade, dominated by the pan-Americana radiator grille, the AMG 4.0 litre V8 bi-turbo engine, and the fully variable all-wheel drive system AMG Performance 4MATIC+. The special features of the design include, V-shaped cooling air intake, three-dimensional front splitter with its aerodynamically shaped high-sheen chrome edge, and so on.
Coming to the side profile, the three-dimensional inlays in high-sheen chrome lend a lower-slung look to the car, besides generating more tension in the flanks. The rear end, on the other hand, shows off an updated rear apron with diffuser insert and the redesigned, model-specific twin tailpipes of the AMG exhaust system.
As far as the interior is concerned, the AMG S63 Coupe is equipped with AMG power sports seats with memory function and seat heating. Car-buyers will be impressed by the Nappa leather and AMG badges in the front and rear seat backrests. The three-spoke performance steering wheel is accompanied by paddle shifters, a distinctly contoured rim trimmed with perforated leather in the grip area, and a metal insert with AMG logotype. You can also expect yellow accents on the AMG sports seats, the AMG Performance sports steering wheel with 12 ‘o’ clock marking, the dashboard, the beltline, the centre door panels, the armrests, the centre console front and rear and the floor mats.
Under the hood, the car gets the AMG 4.0 litre V8 Bi-turbo engine which can develop a maximum power of 612bhp and a peak torque of 900Nm. The engine is mated to AMG Speedshift MCT 9G transmission. It promises a top speed of 250kmph, and is expected to reach the 100kmph mark from standstill in just 3.5 seconds. In the Indian market, it will not be rivaled directly by any car.
