Jeep India is enthused with the success of the Compass SUV in the country which is priced between Rs. 15.16-21.37 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). The company will now introduce a Trailhawk top-end variant for the Compass this year as per reports. This could be priced at Rs. 2.5 lakh more than the current top-end model according to reports.

Jeep dealerships have already started accepting bookings for the Compass Trailhawk version with an initial payment of Rs. 50, 000 as per reports. Deliveries of the car could commence sometime around June or July this year. The Trailhawk version will be manufactured at FCA’s plant in Ranjangaon and will also be exported to other markets like Australia, UK and Japan. There are several additions like added approach and departure angles, redesigned front and rear bumpers, extra underbody protection, skid plates for both ends, special black and silver paint scheme, anti-glare black decal for the bonnet, rear differential, Trail-Rated badging on the front fenders and blacked out Jeep badges. There will also be a Trailhawk badge for the boot lid and red recovery hooks.
Inside, there will be black leather seats, all-weather floor mats and red dashboard accents. The car will ride on dual-tone 17-inch alloy wheels and will use all-terrain 225/60 R17 tyres. 20 mm of extra ground clearance will be offered along with a specially tuned suspension system for heavy-duty usage. Jeep will also offer its Active Drive Low-Range feature for the Select-Terrain 4WD system. There will be a new Rock mode available in tandem with standard Hill Descent Control.
A new automatic transmission and diesel engine pairing may be witnessed for the Compass Trailhawk version as per reports. The 2.0 litre MultiJet 170 BHP mill may be paired to a new automatic 9-speed transmission setup. This will be an addition to the 6-speed torque converter setup for the 1.4 litre petrol mill at present.
