Lamborghini is all set to rock the roads with its all-new Huracan Performante Spyder. Yes, this will be yet another stunning model from this leading brand which is yet to arrive at the Sant’Agata factory of Lamborghini. This particular model will be a supercar which is completely a track-focused convertible vehicle.
This new model, in particular, comes up with a foldable fabric soft-top attached to the vehicle’s track-honed chassis, thereby, offering an excellent blend of handling and the amazing visceral experience with the open-top monitoring.

Carbon-fibre is used for the front spoiler, rear wing and prominent rear diffuser; this makes the model’s body and framework unique. However, when, the roof is removed, two additional buttresses are added, which are identical to those fitted to the regular Spyder and give the car a different contour whether the roof is up or down. The interesting thing is that the soft-top takes 17sec to fold, and can be performed at different speeds of up to 50kph.
Power comes from the Huracan Performante’s mid-mounted naturally-aspirated 5.2-litre V10, which develops the same 640hp at 8,000rpm and 600Nm of torque at 6,500rpm, which is provided to all four wheels. More 125kg is added to the car’s weight additionally due to the Spyder’s new and stylish roof and electro-hydraulic mechanism. Pushing the dry weight up to 1,507kg; however, the weight distribution remains the same 43/57, without any alterations.
The additional weight sees the 0-100kph sprint take 3.1secs and 0-200kph dash take 9.3sec – 0.2 seconds and 0.4 seconds slower than the coupe, respectively. No doubt, the model's maximum speed remains unchanged as 325kph similar to the coupe.

Lamborghini’s Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva active aerodynamic system is incorporated without any adaptation. It throws the air over the cockpit so smoothly and with an ease that Lamborghini states that the soft-top roof can always encompass the flow of atmospheric particles of any range over the car as well as its hard-top sibling which helps to maintain the same maximum speed.
The Performante coupe and Spyder have similar structural setup and design. It also features Lamborghini’s trio of ‘Anima’ drive modes - Strada, Sport and Corsa that helps in changing the course at more advanced levels. It also uses more advanced settings to experience dynamic steering and to have a stable control.
This Italian supercar is sold at Rs 3.97 crore (ex-showroom, India). While from the carmakers there is no sentence on the drop-top coming to India yet, if it comes to India, the rate will be more than Rs 25 lakh which is more than the coupe.
