Maruti Suzuki Ignis
The most awaited car from Maruti, the Ignis has finally been launched in India. The car comes with an introductory price tag starting at Rs. 4.59 lakh (ex-showroom price, Delhi) and has already garnered 7000 plus bookings (Maruti started online booking a few days before the launch).
The car definitely stands for its tagline "None of a kind". With the Ignis, Maruti demolishes traditional segments to widen the span in Indian automotive arena. Ignis will be the third car marketed and sold thru their Nexa dealerships.
On the mechanical front, Ignis shares underpinnings and the engines from Baleno and gets a boxy and retro design with a lot of modern design accents.

The car is definitely going to lure many customers looking for a hatchback in the coming days; it will also cannibalise some of the numbers from the Maruti Suzuki stable itself.
The flat and retro theme is seamlessly carried inside the cabin - It is the coolest and funky interiors seen on any Maruti Suzuki cars till date. The body colour inserts look trendy and cool and the touch screen installation reminds us of the Mercedes Benz cars.
Kudos to Maruti for fitting all Ignis variants right from the base Sigma, with ABS with EBD, dual front airbags, seat belt with pre-tensioners, force limiters and ISOFIX child seat anchorages.
The car is powered by the same engine that powers the Baleno-
- 1.2-Litre VVT engine (82 hp & 113 Nm)
- 1.3-Litre DDiS engine (74 hp & 190 Nm)
