MG Motors set to launch its first model in India by 2019

MG Motor India, a subsidiary of SAIC Motor Corporation, is planning on investing a huge sum of Rs 5,000 crore in India for the next six years and also intends on conducting dealer roadshows in Mumbai on March 28, in Delhi on April 6 and in Bengaluru on April 16. The production capacity will be about 80,000 units per annum with a work force of 1000 employees and is trying to continuously improve the rate by upgrading the factory with new press shop and better assembly line. Their first car launch in India would be an SUV which is due in the latter half of 2019 and aims at having 300 dealership and service centres in India. This compact SUV in Thailand is equipped with 1.5-litre petrol engine that generates 83 bhp of power and 150 Nm of peak torque. The car is loaded with top notch safety features like six airbags, electronic brake force distribution, brake assist, hill-start assist, anti-lock brakes, traction control, rear view camera and many more.


This SUV comes with two engine options namely, 1.5-litre petrol generating 165 bhp of power and 250 Nm of torque and a 2.0-litre petrol engine making 215 bhp power and 350 Nm of torque. The safety features of the car are top notch and the cabin is loaded with features such as 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone integration, rear reclining seats, sunroof and more.

MG 3

The premium hatchback is fitted with a 1.5-litre petrol engine which generates 104 bhp of power and 137 Nm of peak torque. The top specs of the car includes auto headlamps, cruise control, sunroof, reverse parking sensors, sunroof, 6 airbags, anti-lock brakes, hill-hold and tyre pressure monitoring system.

MG 5

This mid-size sedan gets a 1.5-litre petrol generates 105 bhp of power and 135 Nm of torque and a 1.5-litre diesel engine that produces 127 bhp of power and 210 Nm of torque. The noteworthy features of the car includes electric sunroof, rear-view camera, touchscreen infotainment system, airbags, anti-lock brakes, traction control and more.
