The Japanese multinational automobile manufacturing company has launched all-new Nissan Terra SUV in the Philippines for the South Asian people. Earlier the SUV was launched in the Chinese market in the month of February 2018. Nissan is also making provision to launch the promising SUV in Thailand, Brunei, Laos, Vietnam, and Myanmar during this fiscal year. Besides South Asia, the SUV has potential to grab attention in Indian as well as Australian market. The company has framed this vehicle to take on Ford Endeavour, Toyota Fortuner, Isuzu MU-X and other cars in the SUV segment. Terra is built on the Nissan Navara which is one of the SUV heritage of the car makers.
"The Nissan Terra design is both capable and practical, reliable for everyday use while also giving our customers the ability to unhook from daily life and undertake the adventure. The new Nissan Terra is built on our more than 60 years of SUV heritage, which includes iconic models such as the Nissan Patrol," said Ashwani Gupta, senior vice president for Nissan's Light Commercial Vehicle business. However, Nissan could meet the demand of mid-size SUV in the South Asian market.
Interior and Safety
The SUV's cabin looks similar to Nissan Navara, it's equipped with all the advanced technology which you might have seen in other SUVs of this segment. It's furnished with touch screen system, dual pod instruments with MID unit and arresting grey and black themed interior. Although, the model is available in different trims which simply means high spec trims would come with additional power adjustable seats, multi-function steering wheel, cruise control, Bluetooth connectivity, Apple Carplay and loads of other complementary features. If you look into the security and safety attribute, it's offering Nissan intelligent mobility which includes blind spot warning, lane departure warning, smart rearview mirror, six airbags and other indispensable features.
Engine and Strength
Recently, launched Nissan Terra is pretty much different from the Chinese version, the SUV is a seven seater and offers great comfort. Terra features world-class cabin space and its flexibility allows for a full flat second-row seat folding and this certainly makes it worth for the urban as well as off-road adventures with the close ones. The vehicle is packed with the amazing ladder frame chassis which would give confidence for off-road adventures. Though, thanks to its suspension which consists of five-link coil spring and wheel axle which guarantees unparallel comfort without compromising the durability and strength of the SUV.
For the Philippines, the company has used the YD25 engine for the enhance acceleration for the powerful drives. The automaker has included four cylinders, 6 manual and 7 automatic torque converter for better transmission and 450 Nm of peak torque. For overcoming rough terrains, Terra has great ground clearance of 225mm along with Hill start assist. Different from Chinese version the SUV is 15mm wider and 3mm longer. Nissan Terra is now available booking and the company has promised to deliver from the August 2018.
