The 2019 Volkswagen Jetta which is equipped with a long list of features and also boasts of a new design, made its international debut at the North American International Auto Show 2018. As far as styling is concerned, it gets a new hexagonal front grille, which is bigger and bolder, along with a muscular bonnet. The rear flaunts twin quad exhaust pipes that enhance its sporty appeal. Further, the car will impress buyers with its more spacious interiors, thanks to the 33mm longer wheelbase over the outgoing model.
Under the hood, the revamped Jetta is powered by a 1.4litre TSI engine that makes 147bhp and 249.5Nm of maximum torque which is mated to 6-speed manual or 8-speed as automatic transmission options. The car is also accompanied by a Start/Stop technology that contributes to improved fuel economy. There are also a host of driver aids including collision warning system, a radar governed brake assist system, blind spot monitor with rear traffic alert, high beam control, lane assist, and cruise control. Further, the automatic post collision braking system automatically applies brakes once the airbag sensors detect collision. The panoramic sunroof is yet another attraction.

The cabin boasts of ambient lighting with 10 colour options, new fabric and colour options for seats, along with other alluring features such as heated and ventilated front seats, dual zone climate control and a centre storage control. The touch screen infotainment system supports Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and MirrorLink for smart-phone connectivity. The 400 Watt Beats audio system will also take car-loves by delight. The new Jetta is based on the same platform as the new Polo which is sold at an international level. Currently, Volkswagen does not seem to have any plans to launch these cars in the Indian market.
