The luxury car Porsche is all set to reveal Cayenne E hybrid after spy cams capture the images of the car during an intensive endurance test in challenging terrains and difficult mountain passes of South Africa. According to the director Complete Vehicle Product Line SUV, Oliver Laqua, the tests are done in a customer-focused way.
The current model of the Cayenne comes equipped with 2 engine options namely a 3.0-litre single-turbo V6 that generates 335 bhp of power and a 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 that makes 462 bhp of power. The E-hybrid models of the other hand with the equipped with a 2.9-liter bi-turbo V6 engine which will be paired with an electric motor which has a 14-kWh lithium-ion battery pack capable of offering a longer electric range. The combined efforts of the two would result in the generation of 455 bhp of power and 700 Nm of peak torque. The Cayenne line will receive an eight-speed Tiptronic S transmission along with new additions such as neon green brake callipers which would indicate their hybrid nature. The Cayenne E-Hybrid can accelerate from a speed of 0 kmph to 100 kmph in about 5 seconds and can reach a maximum speed of 253kmph. The luxury car maker also intends on launching another hybrid vehicle, Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid, which will be powered by a 4.0-litre V8 engine generating 671 bhp of power. The car will be equipped with more driver assistance features.
The E Hybrid with come with a range of different driving modes namely the E-Power, Hybrid Auto, Sport and Sport Plus. It starts with the E-Power mode and switches to different modes automatically or manually. The car will get a range of new assistance systems and features such as head-up display (HUD), smart digital co-pilot Porsche InnoDrive with adaptive cruise control and active lane guidance, independent heating with remote operation, a heated windscreen, 22-inch light metal wheels, massage seats and a new Off-Road Precision app which allows the driver to document, evaluate and improve their trips on any terrain.
