The Honda Amaze comes back with its second generation after 5 years of launch of the first gen. right after entering the market, the 2018 Amaze will face serious rivalry with Maruti Suzuki Dzire (Rs 5.56-9.43 lakh), Hyundai’s Xcent (Rs 5.46-8.58 lakh), Volkswagen Ameo (Rs 5.62-10.02 lakh), Tata Tigor (Rs 4.84-7.19 lakh) and the Ford Aspire (Rs 5.72-8.08 lakh).

In case of engines, the new Amaze has promised to retain its previous units. It will very well have the 1.2 litre petrol unit having a power output of 90hp and the 1.5 litre diesel unit with a 100 hp coupled to a 5 speed manual gearbox. The good thing about the second generation Honda Amaze is that both the petrol and diesel engines of the car will have the option of a CVT automatic. The diesel engine will generate power less by 20% producing a power of 80hp and a peak torque of 160Nm. This is to increase the shelf life of the transmission.
The petrol automatic variants are available at prices ranging from Rs.7.40 to Rs.8 lac while the diesel engine variants come within a price range of Rs.6.60 and 9 lac. The CVT option for transmission is available for S and V variants of the car.
The 2nd gen Honda Amaze has obvious better looks in comparison to its predecessor 1st gen Amaze. The bonnet becomes better looking with a neat rear. There is a change in the grille design of the car and there is the additional chrome to it. 10 spoke alloy wheels embellish the exteriors.
The new Honda Amaze is more spacious on the inside with increased shoulder room by 45mm, rear headroom by 10mm and increase of boot space of 20 litres.
