Volkswagen has decided to refresh its lineup for the Polo and Vento brands in India. The German automaker has now launched the Polo Pace and Vento Sport trims which will be available at all Volkswagen dealerships in the country and cover select variants of these two cars. The Polo Pace trim, for instance, will only be available for the Comfortline variant which makes use of the 1-litre petrol engine. The Vento Sport trim is available for the Highline and Highline+ variants of the sedan which get either the TSI 1.2 litre petrol engine or 1.5 litre TDI diesel engine with automatic/manual transmission choices.
These trims will be offered without any additional costs to customers. The only notable addition to the Polo Pace is the car’s badging and the diamond-cut 15-inch alloy wheels. The Vento Sport also gets the sport badging in tandem with exterior rearview mirrors and the roof in black while there are side decals in black on the front and rear doors. There are 16-inch wheels available for the car in tandem with a black boot lip spoiler.
Steffen Knapp, Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars India, stated that the company continually strives to update its product range in India for keeping up with rapidly evolving customer preferences and market trends. He added that the Polo and Vento have been the highest selling models for the company since its inception in India and promised to offer more choices and value propositions to customers.
The Polo has two petrol engine options, namely the 1 litre naturally aspirated engine and 1.2-litre turbocharged engine while there is the 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel engine in two states of tune. The Vento gets this same diesel engine in a higher state of tune. There is also 1.2-litre TSI petrol and 1.6 litre naturally aspirated petrol engines available for the Vento.
