There will be safety features that are radar based including adaptive cruise control, pilot assist, lane assist and collision mitigation in addition to city safety which encompasses pedestrian, animal and cyclist detection. The Volvo XC40 comes with T5 petrol and D4 diesel engines globally which are four cylinder turbocharged motors. In India, however, there will be a 2 litre diesel engine that makes 190 PS and 400 Nm.
This engine is paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission unit sourced from Aisin. The Volvo XC40 also comes with 211 mm of ground clearance.
