In the front, it looks aggressive with features like a bold radiator grille and a stylish headlight cluster. This grille is treated with a lot of chrome. It has a large windscreen that is equipped with a pair of intermittent wipers. The headlight cluster is integrated with high intensity discharge (HID) headlamps that have washer function as well. The rear end has a large boot lid that further includes the company's emblem engraved on it. The tail light cluster is radiant and features LED tail lamps. The wide windshield comes with a defogger and has a wash/wipe function

The insides are quite spacious and are done up in a dual tone color scheme. This is along with well-cushioned seats, which are covered with leather upholstery. These seats provide ample leg and shoulder space for all occupants. It has a tilt adjustable power steering system, which is quite responsive and makes handling convenient even in heavy traffic conditions.

This SUV is powered by a powerful 2.2-litre diesel motor, which is integrated with 4-cylinders and 16-valves using double overhead camshaft based valve configuration. This 2199 cc diesel engine can produce 194.3 bhp of maximum power at 3800 rpm along with 420.7 Nm of peak torque between 1800 to 2500 rpm.

Our Verdict

The Hyundai Santa Fe first debuted in 2001, and it was the automaker’s first SUV. It borrows its naming from the New Mexico city, Santa Fe, a desert region to depict that the vehicle was a perfect off-roader. It proved to be a statement-making vehicle for Hyundai and was very successful. Its latest iterative release is even better and has a good mix of appeal, vitality, and excellence and is as versatile as ever. Complementing and trendy interiors and exterior, it’s spacious and makes for a good buy and outrivals competition. Except of course, it is pricier than before.
