"Go Anywhere. Do Anything." For 75 years and counting, JEEP brand has been making SUVs that showcase liberty, quest, genuineness, zeal, fervour, and of course commitment and masterful design and engineering. And most of all, the brand is a legacy!
Interestingly, there is a story behind the origin of the name, 'Jeep'. Joe Frazer, the Willys-Overland President from 1939 to 1944, is said to have invented the word Jeep by adding a slur to the initials G.P. It is also said that in 1914, US Army mechanics asked to test new vehicles, coined the word, Jeep. And it caught on and stayed. Jeep has seen many owners. The first, original Jeep was a sample model Bantam BRC. And in 1941, the company started manufacturing the Willys MB Jeeps. Though it was specifically made for the military, later on, after the war, it was made both for military and civilian use. It is said that Land Rover was inspired by the Jeep civilian vehicle.
