About TATA HEXA
The Hexa is a majorly tweaked version of the Tata Aria and is currently in development to replace the same. The basic outer body remains the same, but the change is the sporty character which is presented in the SUV’s design.
Without further ado, the exterior, upfront has a new flatter bonnet and a clamshell-like design. Sophisticated headlamps, wide grille with chrome inserts and the bumper which houses a lower air dam that is wider and has aluminium surroundings is what makes up the front. The front’s appeal is increased due to the muscular fog lamps which feature LED DRLs. Additionally the wheel arches has plastic cladding. The rear portion has been completely reworked on and features tail lamps which are horizontal and very similar to the Volkswagen. This adds that character which was lacking. It also has dual exhausts, blacked out pillars and faux skid plated finished in brushed aluminium etc.
The interiors is all in black and the centre console sports a touchscreen. The steering wheel has phone and audio controls and the controls are neatly outlined in silver and black accents. The SUV is said to have a 6 seat model with the middle row getting captain seat and AC for the second and third row occupants. Few safety features are 6 airbags, electronic stability, control, rain sensing wipers and automatic projector beam headlamps.
Tata Hexa has 2.2L diesel engine which produces 156BHP and a torque of 400Nm. This is mated to a 6 speed manual transmission and there might be an automatic option as well. An AWD set up is said to come with ‘Super Driving Modes.’

Our Verdict
The concept of the Hexa was presented about 18 months ago and people are awaiting the launch of this car. It’s got quite the off-road ability. The equipment levels look almost luxury SUV like and have things like NVH and a responsive AMT. A thing to note would be the price as it going up against popular competitors which have established themselves in the market. It’s quite a big step for Tata and only time will tell how this SUV will fare. All in all, it looks like an aggressive looking car with good capabilities and it’s definitely a flagship product for the automaker.
