Our Verdict
The Safari, from the renowned homegrown automaker, Tata Motors is the first SUV that was wholly and solely designed and developed in India. It was first released in 1998 and owing to its reliability, affordability and its usage; it is still around to date. It has gone through iterative changes over the years and newer versions, models and variants have come and have a good market presence. Its rugged, casual stance and its simple interiors coupled with engine performance, adaptability to Indian road conditions and off-roading ability combined with its multi usage, both as individual, family or even commercial carrier, makes it an iconic vehicle in India.
