About TOYOTA COROLLA ALTIS
Already in its 11th Generation, Toyota Corolla Altis was launched in 2014 for the Indian markets. The Corolla Altis gets a new aerodynamic look. The facade of the car easily stands out. The radiator grille takes on a slight V shape. The side profile has strong lines streaking across. The rear has a fresh look with new taillight cluster. The cabin contains plenty of chrome inserts. The instrumental cluster has a fresh design. Depending on which variant you pick, the Corolla Altis has premium leather or usual fabric upholstery.
Toyota Corolla Altis can house a petrol or diesel engine. The 1.8 litre petrol engine generates 1798 cc and gives out a power of 138 bhp and a maximum torque of 173 Nm. The 1.4 litre D-4D diesel engine gives a displacement capacity of 1364 cc along with 87 bhp and 205 Nm. Both the engines can be paired with a 6 speed manual transmission gearbox, while the petrol engine can also be equipped with a 7 speed super CVT-i sequential shiftmatic transmission gearbox.
The infotainment system can be used through the LCD touch screen. Audio and video files can be played as well as navigational assistance can be got. The audio system has an aux socket, USB port and Bluetooth connectivity. Corolla Altis's advanced braking system includes anti lock braking and electronic brake force distribution system. The car is equipped with dual air bags for the passenger and driver in front.
Hyundai Elantra maybe a close competitor, but it is unable to produce the same high power and speeds offered by Toyota Corolla Altis.

Our Verdict
With the Corolla Altis, Toyota has walked that extra bit, to give it a dynamic, sportier and upscale image. And this is evident in its design and bearing, interiors and even lowered seating. And the Altis is not anywhere close to its predecessors and therefore, nagging issues present then, have been done away with here. Its made for India petrol and diesel engines, features and suspensions are intuitive and well-suited to Indian conditions. It definitely is a car that is prudent and not bothersome and comes with the stamp of reliability from Toyota and that by itself is a winning combination.
